Gone Fishin' in Michigan Carved and Painted Gourds

 The inspiration for this large gourd box was the cute quote, "If you're too busy to fish; you're too busy." I woodburned that quote on the lid, carved a silhouette of a man fishing, and painted a Salmon and Trout with the thought of Michigan's many beautiful rivers. 

This tall bowl was another nod to my Michigan river fishing expeditions. Starting with the rim, I woodburned lures and bobbers and then carved around them. I painted a fishing hat, pole, fly, and a large, hungry Rainbow Trout. Both of these gourds are SOLD, but I would be happy to custom make a gourd similar to one of these.
